<4>Day 1. Arusha National Park>
Drive to Arusha National Park for a full day Safari.
You will be able to get out of the vehicle and view the beautiful Ngurdoto Crater rim.
Arusha National park, while being one of Tanzania’s smallest parks, is certainly one of the most beautiful. Arusha National park boasts the Ngurdoto Crater (often referred to as little Ngorongoro), the Momela Lakes, Serengeti Ndogo (Little Serengeti) and the gorgeous Mt Meru. Animal sightings include herds of Zebra, Flamingo’s and a variety of other bird species, waterbucks, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, elephants, hyenas, dik-dik, mongooses, warthogs, baboons and monkeys. The Arusha National park is also the only park where you will be able to view the long haired Colobus Monkey. There are no lions or rhinos due to poaching but you may see the occasional leopard.
Drive from Arusha to Mto Wambu, just outside Lake Manyara. Camp overnight.
Day 2. Manyara National park
After breakfast head into Manyara National park for a morning game drive. Lunch en route followed by an early afternoon game drive.
Lake Manyara National Park is approximately 330 Square Kilometres of which 200 sq Kilometres make up the lake itself when water levels are at a maximum. From a sea of Pink Flamingos as far as the eye can see to bull elephants at close range, Lake Manyara showcases a superb variety of herd animals and birdlife.
Drive to Karatu, just outside Crater territory. Camp Overnight.
Day 3. Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy an early breakfast before heading into the Crater highlands and descending into the Crater for a half day game drive.
The Ngorongoro Crater is a world heritage site, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and is commonly referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. The walls of the crater stand 2,000 feet high while the floor spans across approximately 10 miles. Animal citing throughout the crater includes elephant, black rhino, hippo, buffalo, eland, zebra, wildebeest, hartebeest, waterbuck, warthog, Grant’s gazelle and Thomson’s gazelle, baboons, vervet monkeys, lion, cheetah, hyena, jackal and the occasional leopard.
Drive to Lake Eyasi town and camp overnight.
Day 4. Lake Eyasi
Early morning breakfast in Lake Eyasi followed by a day of true Tanzanian culture. You will spend the morning with the Hadzabe tribe, accompanying the men on their daily hunt for food using traditional bow and arrows or foraging for fruits and berries with the women. You will join the Hadzabe Tribe for a taste of local Bush tucker and find yourself living your very own ‘the gods must be crazy’ experience. You will then drive to another village within Lake Eyasi where you will meet the Tatoga tribe. The Tatoga’s are traditionally blacksmiths so you will have the opportunity to watch them at work making local tools, you can even try your own hand at some craftsmanship.
Homeward bound for Arusha arrival in the evening.
